Billing and metering

The public calculator uses the current published rates. Your accepted quote and invoice confirm the rack-space plan, meter boundaries, billing period, optional services, taxes, and due date for your deployment.

Rack space

Fixed monthly base

The base rate corresponds to the approved 1U, 2U, or 4U position. It reserves that physical placement and supports facility cooling, the documented protected-power path, the standard network handoff, monitoring, and operating records.

Rack power

Measured kilowatt-hours

Billable energy is measured at the rack-power boundary stated in the quote. The public estimator calculates average watts × hours ÷ 1,000 × $0.12/kWh.

Internet transfer

Outbound decimal gigabytes

Published pricing charges $0.01 for each decimal GB leaving the customer handoff for the public internet. Inbound transfer is not billed under the published model.

Illustrative month

How a 2U estimate becomes line items.

This example assumes a 30-day, 720-hour month, 400W average measured draw, and 2TB of outbound transfer. It is not an invoice or a record of a customer deployment.

2U base $150.00
400W × 720h ÷ 1000 × $0.12 $34.56
2,000GB outbound × $0.01 $20.00
                                  -------
Illustrative recurring subtotal $204.56

Standard terms

A clear start date and no setup fee.

Standard colocation includes the first 30 days after go-live at no service charge. Recurring billing begins on day 31.

  • Invoices are issued through Stripe with net-seven payment terms.
  • There is no setup fee and no cancellation fee.
  • Rack-power and outbound-transfer readings are recorded monthly.
  • Service is month to month unless a written order states otherwise.
  • Return packing, insurance, and carrier charges remain the customer’s responsibility.

Invoice review

Match each line to its source.

A useful billing question names the invoice, service identifier, disputed line, expected treatment, and the record that supports the question.

Prepare a billing question
  • Confirm the invoice service period and monthly base plan.
  • Match rack-power kWh to the stated meter and reading period.
  • Match outbound GB to the stated transfer meter and period.
  • Check IPv4, remote hands, parts, packing, carrier, and other approved optional lines.
  • Do not send payment-card numbers or bank credentials by email.

Partial months and cancellation

The accepted quote states the billing start and any prorating. There is no cancellation fee; final charges may include the last meter period, authorized removal work, packing, storage, insurance, and carrier costs while equipment remains in Helixrack custody.

Remote hands

The public routine rate is $35 per started 15-minute block from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Eastern, seven days a week, unless the service order says otherwise. Outside-hours work, parts, shipping, or a larger planned task is confirmed separately before non-emergency work begins.
